Statement
A key part of my clay practice is rooted in childlike play. My work with clay has allowed me to evolve as an artist, providing a safe space to explore without self-judgment. I strive to create intentional pieces that hold the viewer in whatever way they need to be held. For the past six years, clay has played a vital role in processing my trans experience and healing from the trauma of my conservative upbringing. The beauty of clay lies in its ability to reflect what I need to process in the moment, and each new piece helps me communicate and explore my experiences. Through this practice, I’ve opened up to embrace who I am, creating safe spaces where whimsy can meet pain—an approach I find both powerful and healing.
